Hibs boss chases Airdrie youngster Gary Mackay-Steven

HIBS have become the latest club to be linked with a move for highly-rated former Liverpool youngster Gary Mackay-Steven.

The 20-year-old joined Airdrie United in January and has earned himself some rave reviews with his displays for the Second Division side.

Mackay-Steven joined Liverpool when he was just 17 from Ross County, who at that time were managed by new Hibs assistant boss Derek Adams.

The attacking midfielder has scored two goals in ten appearances for the Diamonds and Jimmy Boyle's side look to have a fight on their hands to keep him at New Broomfield beyond the end of this season.

Kilmarnock are also believed to be tracking Mackay-Steven's progress.
