Verdict of Hibs supporters Steven Anderson and Paul McNaughton
Steven Anderson, Newhaven: "We can celebrate that the unbeaten run continues but on Saturday it was a hard-fought battle in extreme weather conditions.
"The Saints started brightly and Graham Stack had to look lively twice to deny the home side taking the lead in the early exchanges.
"Eventually we got our game going and had a couple of nibbles around their box but the highlight of the match was provided by Derek Riordan. He skipped passed one defender cut inside then switched on to his right foot and smashed an unstoppable shot passed Gallacher who didn't even see it as it was such a wonder strike.
"We struggled in the second half as the wind, rain and the general weather conditions made it hard for the players to play any decent football and the number of times Nish was caught offside in the limited time he was on the park summed up the performance of the second half.
"The referee started badly and got worse. I have seen this referee a few times now and he is not a biased referee, he is just a bad one.
The best player for Hibs on a day where the weather stopped any one performing wonder football was Stack. It's not a coincidence that now we have a good keeper our goals against has decreased. He kept us in the game in the early moments, keeping our unbeaten run going for another week."
Paul McNaughton, Broughton: "At this time of the season, we get games that are decided by the weather conditions more than the twenty two players on the park. The conditions were a factor and full marks to all the players for providing an entertaining first half which Hibs nearly ended in the lead. One strike from Riordan's right boot saw Hibs take the lead on twenty nine minutes with a shot from nearly 30 yards.
"We lost the equaliser seconds before half time and Stokes and Bamba seemed to be confused who was picking up St Mirren's goal scorer.
"The second half wasn't as great and the teams seemed to let the bad conditions win. Also it was getting ridiculous the number of times that the game was stopped by a very poor referee.
"This referee had it ruined before half-time with a number of strange decisions, he didn't improve in the second as he and the players seemed to accept that the game was going to end even.
"Hibs' best player was Benji – he put the disappointment of his national side's failure to progress to either the World Cup or African Cup of Nations to give his best performance of the season. He just failed to top it off with a goal as the keeper pulled of a good save to stop him scoring."
