Hibs: Moyes set for Lions' return

HIBS' on-loan defender Ewen Moyes could be back in Livingston's first team tomorrow following an injury to centre-half Cameron MacDonald.

The 19-year-old MacDonald suffered a serious injury to his foot during the 3-0 victory at Montrose last week that sent Livi to the top of the Third Division.

MacDonald, a product of the club's youth system, found himself displaced by Moyes at the beginning of the season as new manager Gary Bollan began finding a winning formation. But MacDonald forced his way back into the starting XI and has since forged a solid partnership alongside the experienced Danny Griffin, and Moyes, a star of Hibs' all-conquering Under-19 team last season, has found opportunities limited.

MacDonald's form has resulted in him agreeing a new contract at Almondvale, extending his deal until 30 April, 2012, but he is unlikely to play this weekend.

Moyes has not been picked in the first team since the 3-2 defeat at East Stirlingshire at the end of September and his last appearance was as an 83rd-minute substitute in the 1-0 victory at Forfar on 10 October.

Elgin have been inconsistent this term and lie third from bottom but have won their last two games, a 4-2 away victory over Nairn in the Scottish Cup and last weekend's 3-0 victory over Queen's Park at Hampden in the league. But they have not won at home all season, losing three and drawing two, scoring just five goals on the way.
