Pharmacies find a cure

PHARMACIES across the Lothians have been praised for maintaining supplies despite the freezing weather.

The Scottish Government said they were playing a key role in keeping people in health as the country struggles with the worst conditions in decades.

Ministers said that with the roads network now largely clear, further large deliveries were expected across the country.

Public Health Minister Shona Robison said: "Many of us have suffered a great deal of disruption because of the awful weather over the last two weeks - the worst snowfall in Scotland at this time of year since 1965.

"But the efforts of pharmacists and suppliers have meant that a front line of healthcare has been almost unaffected.

"Suppliers and their drivers have worked very hard indeed in difficult conditions."
