Hearts: Your view
Chris Sim, Gilmerton: "A hugely-important win for Hearts. It was scrappy stuff and we struggled to create chances throughout but we got the goal from the penalty and that proved to be good enough for us."
Frank Thomson, Danderhall: "We finally seem to have turned the corner in terms of getting the breaks. I've seen us play far better than that this season and lose. A good win to get us into the top six."
John Hogg, Gorgie: "That was a bit of a smash and grab for us but it's a massive win. Eight points clear of the bottom now and into the top six gives us a good platform to build on."
Bill Edgar, Gorgie: "A really gritty, battling display from Hearts. Falkirk had the better of the chances but we worked really hard and managed to hold on towards the end."
Peter Williams, Newington: "It wasn't pretty to watch but I'll take that every week. I thought that while Falkirk had plenty of the ball, we defended very well as a unit. It's good to get a clean sheet away from home and we've had an excellent response from Hearts in the last few games."
Graeme Pryde, Edinburgh: "A very workmanlike display. I thought that Eggert Jonsson epitomised the team's effort on Saturday – he was terrific."
Alan Bailey, Morningside: "We showed a fantastic work ethic and it's a really positive result for us. It feels as if we've turned the corner and hopefully, we can keep this run going into the new year."
Colin Hay, Balerno: "Despite not playing at all well, we've managed to grind out another big three points. We are back to "winning ugly", which is something that became our trademark under Csaba last season."
George Currie, Fife: "The turnaround from a few weeks ago is very surprising but a huge bonus! I didn't imagine us taking seven points from nine from the last three matches. If we bring in a couple of players in January, mounting a challenge for Europe isn't quite off the agenda yet."
Alex Carlyle, Leith: "Not a brilliant display but a brilliant result. The confidence is definitely back in the team. We defended so doggedly throughout and we made our own luck."
