Hearts legend John Robertson to coach young strikers
JOHN ROBERTSON was due at Riccarton today to hold a coaching session with young Hearts strikers after agreeing to assist manager Jim Jefferies on a non-contract basis.
The legendary forward, who scored 271 times for the Edinburgh club, has been enlisted to help his former manager in a similar arrangement to that which the pair had at Kilmarnock.
Robertson has agreed to take periodic coaching sessions with strikers as and when Jefferies sees fit, and his presence is certain to have an impact on the club's array of young attacking talent.
"He's come in to take the young strikers but he's not employed or under contract," said Jefferies. "He's doing it as a favour. He did it before for me at Kilmarnock and on an odd occasion he will pop in and help us out."
