Hearts: The Final Answer

WE asked the fans who they thought might go in January and whether they could be replaced...

James Bell, Ingliston: "I think we'll probably lose Lee Wallace in January. I don't think that he'll be replaced but we will hopefully bring in a new striker with the money that we get for him."

Kevin Archibald, Tollcross: "I think last weekend was probably the last straw for Csaba Laszlo with Larry Kingston and I would expect to see him come off the wage bill. I think we'll bring in a couple of new faces but whether they'll be Csaba's own picks is a different matter."

Donald Gibson, Stenhouse: "I don't think that anyone will be leaving yet as the squad is weak enough as it is but, unfortunately, I don't expect Vladimir Romanov to dig deep and bring new players in either."

Laura Stubbs, Craiglockhart: "With Sergejus Fedetovas saying that finances are not an issue, I would hope that we'll keep the squad together until the summer. We don't have enough quality in key positions to let players like Jose Goncalves, Wallace or Michael Stewart go."

Gordon Martin, Edinburgh: "I think any of the players who are out of contract next summer might go if offers are received. I don't mind anybody leaving but Csaba must get proper support from the board if that happens."

Mark Brannagh, Danderhall: "Wallace is the only obvious sellable asset at the moment so I'd imagine he will leave. We don't need a replacement as we have Goncalves but Csaba must be allowed to use the money to sign a striker."

Thomas Begg, Colinton: "If we can get Kingston off the wage bill and use that money to sign two or three players that'd be brilliant. I'd be reluctant to sell Goncalves, Andy Driver or Wallace – players with real quality – when we're so close to the bottom of the league."

Joanne Grant, Murrayfield: "I don't see much movement in January. The only players there has been speculation over are Wallace and Goncalves and I can't see either being allowed to go. Csaba has been more animated in the dugout lately and he has his spark back so I am hoping he has been promised money to buy strikers."

Daniel Baxter, Dalkeith: "I think Wallace will go as he has been very consistent this year and we saw the same thing with Christophe Berra last year. If he does go, we'll need a left back as, if Goncalves gets injured or suspended, we'd have no cover. However, strikers are obviously a much, much bigger priority."

Craig Neill, Galashiels: "I think Romanov will have a price in mind for every player. For example, if we can get 2 million for Lee Wallace then I can see him going but he won't be sold on the cheap. The one thing Romanov has always done is get a good price."
