Hamill happy to lift Lions
FORMER Jambo Joe Hamill was delighted to help Livingston maintain their lead at the top of the Third Division.
The midfielder has been relegated to the supporting cast since Gary Bollan took charge and made only his seventh league appearance on Saturday, deputising for another former Hearts player, Liam Fox, in the 3-0 victory over Stranraer.
Hamill, who played 73 minutes before being substituted, said: "It felt a bit strange playing again but it was great.
"I've not been in favour, but the boys who have been playing have been getting results so I can't complain.
"I was glad to get 70-odd minutes under my belt in what was my first game in a while."
Robbie Winters cracked his fifth goal of the campaign in 14 minutes and, when Glen Mitchell put through his own net ten minutes before the break, the writing was on the wall for Keith Knox's men.
Andrew Halliday notched his sixth of the season to wrap up the victory in 69 minutes.
Bollan said: "We're on a good run but the players are so level-headed that the league table will mean nothing. The club's a long way from where we want it to be.
"Hard work brought it through the leagues ten years ago and that's what it will take to get it back there."
