Gus MacPherson hopes St Mirren get off to a good start against Hibs
ST MIRREN boss Gus MacPherson will emphasise that a good start against visitors Hibs tomorrow is crucial after his side gave up early goals in their last two SPL matches against Hamilton and Rangers.
It took Accies only three minutes in Paisley to take the lead in a game they won 2-0 and, in the Buddies' last outing, Kris Boyd had Rangers in front before a minute was out and the home side went on to win 2-1.
"We've had a bad start in the last two league games and it is crucial in any game that you give yourself a platform," MacPherson said.
"You say to the players 'start properly' but, in the last couple of games, we haven't done that and we have given ourselves a very difficult task at home against Hamilton and a harder task at Ibrox."
He added: "Hibs have had an excellent start to the season and John Hughes has been able to bring in exciting players. We played them on the opening day and we lost a late goal after playing most of the game with ten men.
"So it will be a tough game."
