Gridiron: Edinburgh Wolves hunt the Wildcats

THE Edinburgh Wolves American football team return to Meadowbank on Sunday at 2.30pm for their first home game. The Wolves hope to bounce back after losing 27-0 to the Manchester Titans two weeks ago.

Their opponents, Inverness side Highland Wildcats, may be just the team to boost the Capital side. The northern squad has given up 158 points in three games and has yet to score. Despite the ease with which other teams have brushed aside the Wildcats, Wolves head coach Don Edmonston is preparing his team for a fight.

"The Wildcats have had a tough time so far this season," he said, "but there's no doubt they'll be that much more determined to put some points on the board against us."

Admission is 5 and children get in free with a paying adult.
