Gridiron: Wolves looking to leave Blackhawks down

THE race for the play-offs may be heating up, but the Edinburgh Wolves American football team are determined to stay focused on tomorrow's clash with the Clyde Valley Blackhawks at Meadowbank Stadium.

The Wolves take the field against their evenly-matched Scottish rivals having suffered three straight losses, the most recent a 19-0 shutout in Glasgow two weeks ago.

With a 4-4 record, Edinburgh can still make the play-offs, although they must win this weekend and again in two weeks, and then hope results from the rest of the league go their way.

Coach Don Edmonston said: "The playoffs are not our concern – winning this game is our priority. We need to pay attention to the details and do the little things well. If we do the little things, the big things will take care of themselves."

Kick-off is 2pm. Admission is 5 for adults and free for children.
