Government keen on Euro 2012 rescue bid

THE SFA would be required to carry out a feasibility study before the Scottish Executive would consider funding a possible rescue bid for the 2012 European Championships, according to the minister for communities and sport, Stewart Maxwell.

Rumours surround the ability of Poland and Ukraine to host the tournament.

Maxwell said: "In principle, we would love the tournament to come to Scotland if the opportunity is there. We would be right behind the SFA."
