SCOTTISH golf could have a new star in the making. Step forward Kylie Walker, who recorded her second win of the season on the Ladies European Tour at the weekend.
Not just any other win either. To claim the German Open title, she beat Charley Hull in a play-off. Yes, the same Charley Hull who is the new apple of the English media’s eyes.
What a scalp for Walker. What a performance as she set all sorts of LET records by opening with three 64s.
The eye-catching success was all the more impressive given that it came just over a week after Walker had opened with a 9 in the Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale.
She is clearly tough as well as being talented. What she deserves now is to be shown some recognition by her ain folk when the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies’ Scottish Open is held at Archerfield Links at the end of next month.
