Solheim Cup: Annika Sorenstam declines offer of captaincy
Annika Sorenstam has turned down the chance to captain Europe at the Solheim Cup next year.
The Swede has revealed she was asked to lead the team in Colorado. But having been assistant captain at Killeen Castle, and seen the pressures on skipper Alison Nicholas, Sorenstam – who has two young children – decided it would be too consuming a role.
