THE six matches in the latest round of the East Lothian Winter Golf League all resulted in home wins.
And that spelled good news for defending champions Longniddry, 3-2 winners over Musselburgh, who top the Division One table after two opening home games. The champions have newly-promoted North Berwick for company on four points, Gordon Milligan’s side having beaten Royal Musselburgh on their home course.
Surprisingly, it was Gullane who returned the biggest win in the top flight as they chalked up a 4-1 victory against Tantallon to notch up their first points of the campaign.
There was controversy in Division Two where Whitekirk were awarded a 5-0 win – moving them into pole position without having to play a stroke – the result of a last minute call-off by Craigielaw, who were unable to raise a team.
Kilspindie also have two wins following a 4-1 home victory over Gifford, while Thorntree saw off the challenge of Castle Park 3-2.
