ALPS TOUR: Ross Kellett made an encouraging start to his professional career by carding a five-under-par 67 in the first round of the Palmeraie Open in Morocco.
It was matched by compatriot Gavin Dear as the two Scots earned a share of third spot, one behind joint-leaders Sebastian Gross from France and American Timothy O’Neal.
Philip McLean shot 70, one less than Kris Nicol.
SOUTH AFRICAN STROKE-PLAY: The Scottish contingent had a mediocre second day at Glendower as home player Brandon Stone opened up a five-shot lead at the halfway stage after rounds of 66 and 68.
Scott Crichton (74) slipped to 15th on 143, three better than Brian Soutar (76). Danny Kay (75) is on 147, two ahead of Fraser McKenna (77).
Hi5 TOUR: Former European Tour Rookie of the Year Scott Henderson leapt into a share of second after a two-under-par 70 for a 36-hole total of 143 in the Hacienda del Alamo Open.
With a round to go, Henderson trails the leader, Englishman James Ruth, by four shots, with two other Scots – Greig Hutcheon (73) and Scott Henry (72) – a further two strokes adrift.
