Exclusive Scotsman charity auction: Attend the 2010 Ryder Cup as guests of Colin Montgomerie
2010 European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, has just announced his European team that will competing against the Americans at Celtic Manor in Wales between 1st and 3rd October.
The Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, the charity established by Colin in memory of his mother, is one of the official charities of the Ryder Cup and is offering readers of the Scotsman a unique opportunity to experience the Ryder Cup as guests of the captain himself.
A reader plus a friend will attend the Ryder Cup as a guest of the European Ryder Cup Captain and the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation. You will attend the final practice day and the opening ceremony and the first day of play in the Captain's private hospitality. As well as tickets to the two days, you will also receive full hospitality – breakfast/lunch and snacks throughout the day. This is a unique opportunity to be right at the heart of the action in Wales.
The Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation was established to provide support for people affected by cancer – a disease that will affect 1 in 3 of us.
When his mother was diagnosed with cancer, Colin and his family were devastated but they had no one to support them and no one to talk to. He was determined to help other people in the same situation and working with the Maggie's Cancer Care centres, the Foundation aims to raise funds to build two more Maggie's Centres in Scotland to provide the practical and emotional support for people with cancer.
