Carrickvale enjoy revenge victory over Silverknowes
CARRICKVALE claimed quick revenge by winning at Silverknowes to reverse the previous week’s result in the Edinburgh Municipal Clubs’ Winter League.
Scottish cap Allyn Dick and Josh Cullerton led the way for the visitors with a two-hole win over Graham Robertson and Kevin Reilly.
Craig Elliot and Gary Yorkston kept up the good work as they beat Stevie Adamson and Ian Randall by 2 and 1 in the match behind.
And the points were secured for George Alexander’s men as Paul Cunningham and David Yorkston beat Paul Heggie and Craig Scott by two holes in the anchor match.
A win for Keith Reilly and Murray Paterson over David Ewen and Simon Hermiston proved a mere consolation for Silverknowes.
But, heading into the final matches in the group, they are still in pole position to earn a home tie in the semi- finals.
That will be secured if they beat Braids United at home on February 18, with Carrickvale also at home in their final game against Portobello.
In Group A, Harrison have already wrapped up top spot and Lochend need at least a draw when they take on the leaders to finish in second place.
Group B:
Silverknowes 1, Carrickvale 3: Graham Robertson and Kevin Reilly lost to Allyn Dick and Josh Cullerton two holes; Stevie Adamson and Ian Randall lost to Craig Elliot and Gary Yorkston 2 and 2; Keith Reilly and Murray Paterson bt Davie Ewen and Simon Hermiston 4 and 3; Paul Heggie and Craig Scott lost to Paul Cunningham and Davie Yorkston two holes.
