Golf: And then three come all at once . .

A WELL-KNOWN golfing family on the Capital circuit are celebrating a hat-trick of holes-in-one.

Husband and wife Derek and Agnes Miller, as well as son David, have all recorded aces on Edinburgh courses in recent weeks.

Agnes, a 14-handicapper, sparked the spree when she had her first hole-in-one in a medal at Ravelston, sinking a 6-iron at the fifth in a Midlothian Ladies' match.

It was also a first-time experience for Duddingston member David, who plays off plus two, when he had his ace at the eighth at Silverknowes, using an 8-iron, in a Summer League match.

Not to be outdone, Derek, a two-handicapper at Murrayfield, also got in on the act by sending a utility club into the hole at the 17th at Dalmahoy.

In his case, however, it was the fifth time he'd experienced that special feeling. It was also believed to be the first at that hole since the course was revamped a couple of years ago. "It's certainly been a memorable few weeks for us," said David.
