Fancy a fundraising desert trek?

ADVENTUROUS fundraisers are sought to take part in an eight-day trek through Jordan and help Edinburgh's Marie Curie Cancer Care Hospice.

The charity is looking for Edinburgh adventurers who will be sponsored to explore the country on foot, bike or horseback.

The expedition will follow three separate trails across the desert landscape of Jordan, meeting together in the historic city of Petra. The trek begins on 30 October.

Community fundraiser for the hospice, Emily Hogg, from Gorgie, said: "The Tri-Jordan challenge is an opportunity to discover one of the most extraordinary places in the world, while at the same time raising funds to help terminally ill patients choose where they spend their final days.

"We hope the adventure and thrill of this challenge will inspire people to take part and raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care."
