Football league previews
There are several matches across the Scottish league tonight.
HAMILTON v MORTON: Hamilton manager Billy Reid is looking for further evidence tonight that his team are gelling. Accies drew 2-2 with Dundee on Saturday and Reid reckons they are turning the corner after a difficult start to the campaign.
He said: “We have been playing better, with our younger players contributing more positively and the new signings bedding in well.”
Morton captain Stuart McCaffrey remains out with a heel problem and goalkeeper Colin Stewart may miss out because of a broken toe.
BRECHIN CITY V ARBROATH: Brechin City are looking for a win which would put them on the fringes of the promotion play-off race. Craig Molloy misses out after his red card against Airdrie, with injuries keeping out Gerry McLauchlan, Charlie King and Derek Carcary. Arbroath will look to make it four wins out of four in the league but goalkeeper Michael White and striker Jordan Elfverson are injured.
COWDENBEATH V ALBION ROVERS: Leaders Cowdenbeath take on eighth-placed Rovers and the Central Park side’s player-manager Colin Cameron remains on the sidelines with a knee injury. He is joined in the treatment room by Thomas O’Brien and Lee Makel. Albion’s options for the trip to Fife have increased as both Tony Stevenson and John Gemmell can play after suspensions.
FORFAR V DUMBARTON: Dumbarton manager Alan Adamson takes his side to Forfar tonight with the Irn-Bru Second Division manager of the month award for January in his kit bag. Adamson was accorded the honour after picking up three wins in a row. Forfar’s Martyn Fotheringham could start this evening after scoring twice when he came off the bench in the 4-2 defeat by Arbroath on Saturday.
CLYDE V BERWICK: Clyde will be looking to build on Saturday’s 3-0 success over East Stirlingshire as they bid to climb closer to the sides chasing a play-off place. Jason Marr could return after illness and Gavin Brown could also come back after a groin injury. For Berwick, Lee Currie is available to return after a suspension and the on-loan Forfar defender Stephen Tulloch could feature for the first time.
ELGIN V PETERHEAD: Elgin manager Ross Jack will make changes for the visit of former Highland League rivals Peterhead to Borough Briggs for the first time in nearly seven years. Defender Mark Durnan is missing after being dismissed in the 1-1 draw with Annan on Saturday.
For visitors Peterhead, goalkeeper Paul Jarvie is a major doubt after picking up an elbow injury.
