Football: Kerr puts SPL survival first
INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle's Brian Kerr is content to put talks regarding his future on hold until after the club avoid relegation.
The midfielder, who had been without a club for five months before signing for Caley earlier this year, scored a last-gasp equaliser against Hamilton to help the Inverness side maintain their four-point cushion over bottom-placed Falkirk.
And Kerr, whose short-term contract expires at the end of the season, is happy to wait until the summer to begin talks about a new deal.
He said: "First and foremost we need to keep the club in the SPL. Once we have done that then we can look at contracts. I was delighted to get the equaliser, albeit with the aid of a deflection. But they all count and I will take another one of them in our next game if it comes along."
And the midfielder is looking forward to learning his side's post-split fixture list as the relegation dogfight heats up.
"I think the split has been at its best this season," he said.
"The two teams at the top are neck and neck, there are five teams caught up in the relegation battle and there is also a good contest for the European places. It is going to be important to get as many points on the board as possible"
