Third Division: Stirling Albion on cloud nine

A roundup of the latest results from the Third Division

Stirling Albion 9, East Stirlingshire 1

Jordan White scored four in Stirling Albion’s 9-1 humiliation of ten-man East Stirlingshire.

A Kyle Gillespie own goal and a White double gave Stirling a three-goal lead at half-time, by which point the visitors’ Steven Jackson had been sent off.

In the second half, Mark Ferry wracked up a double, with on-fire White adding a further two. But the goalfest wasn’t over as firstly Phillip Johnston and then Joshua Flood stepped up to completely floor a stunned East Stirling.

Maxwell Wright notched a consolation.

Clyde 2, Queen’s Park 3

Kevin Nicoll set up Stuart McColm in the 12th minute to drill home Clyde’s opener, and McColm added a second six minutes after the restart.

Michael Keenan pulled one back immediately and, after Anthony McParland equalised, Lawrence Shankland converted the winner.

Berwick Rangers 4, Montrose 0

Fraser McLaren opened the scoring in the 12th minute before doubling his tally shortly after half-time.

After Jonathan Crawford’s 70th-minute dismissal for Montrose, McLaren soon completed his hat-trick before Dean Carse netted Berwick’s fourth in stoppage time.

Peterhead 0, Elgin City 1

Paul Millar was the architect for what proved to be Elgin’s winner, with Daniel Moore finishing calmly in the ninth minute as Peterhead dropped out of the play-off positions.

The visitors would have added to their winning margin but for the hosts’ goalkeeper Graeme Smith.
