FORMER Celtic winger Paulo Di Canio made his way into his former managerial office at Swindon in the early hours of the morning and tore down mementos from his time at the club, according to reports.

Management at Swindon Town have been forced to change the locks at the club after Di Canio used keys that he had not given back since he left the club on Monday to enter the premises.

When inside Di Canio ripped down posters of his time at the club in a “forceful” manner.

The incident was captured on the club’s CCTV where Di Canio can be clearly identified.

The club has refused to comment on the incident however it is understood that they will not be reporting the incident to the police.

The former West Ham player left Swindon earlier this week after falling out with the club’s board over the sale of winger Matt Ritchie.

Di Canio’s departure was also followed by several members of his backroom staff including goalkeeping coach Domenico Doardo, fitness coach Claudio Donatelli and first-team masseur Giulio Viscardi.

The Italian’s time in charge of Swindon has been coloured by both success and controversy.

He led his unfancied side to promotion from League Two as Champions while also making it to the final of the Johnston’s Paint trophy.

However during his 21 months in charge he clashed with the club’s management and players.

In August 2011 he was caught on camera scuffling with striker Leon Clarke following his side’s exit from the Carling Cup to Southampton.

During his playing career he infamously pushed over referee Paul Alcock after being sent off for Sheffield Wednesday in 1998 with the incident resulting in an 11 match ban.
