SFA play down reports Dan Petrescu being lined up for Scotland job
THE Scottish Football Association has poured cold water over reports that Dan Petrescu is being lined up as the new Scotland manager.
Reports this morning suggest that the SFA had arranged a meeting with Petrescu's agent Francesca de Sousa - who is touting the availability of the Unirea Urziceni manager - as a courtesy.
It is understood that the meeting is likely to be scrapped after knowledge of it became public.
It had been claimed yesterday that the former Chelsea player was set for face-to-face talks about succeeding George Burley in the next few days.
Petrescu is not believed to be a serious contender to replace Burley, with the SFA board still drawing up their list of potential targets.
