SCOTLAND manager Craig Levein is set to make three changes to his side ahead of tonight’s match with Macedonia after drawing a blank against Serbia in the opening game of the World Cup qualifying campaign.
James Forrest, Shaun Maloney and Jamie Mackie will replace Steven Naismith, Charlie Adam and Robert Snodgrass in the starting line-up, but Kenny Miller retains his place ahead of Jordan Rhodes in the lone striker role.
Levein was criticised for favouring Miller ahead of Rhodes in the 0-0 draw against Serbia, and called the reaction to the result “hysterical”.
Levein has instead opted to improve his attack by drafting in Celtic winger Forrest, Wigan midfielder Maloney and to QPR midfielder Jamie Mackie.
Allan McGregor is expected to be fit for the tie despite aggravating a groin injury against Serbia.
Scotland team: McGregor; Hutton, Berra, Webster, Dixon; Caldwell, Morrison; Forrest, Mackie, Maloney; Miller
