Royston see off Strollers

Craigroyston 3

Civil Service Strollers 1

Craigroyston took an
early lead in this South
Challenge Cup tie when Errol Douglas beat two defenders and shot high past Paul Tansey.

Pinnons forced a good save from Addison at the start of the second half then the same player somehow headed over an open goal as the visitors began the second half well. But it was Craigroyston who doubled their lead when a quick break ended with Chris Gordon volleying home from a Douglas cross. The same player should have added a third but shot wide and Strollers took advantage of the let off to pull themselves back into the match when Aitchison forced the ball home. Then Charlie Brigain almost equalised but his shot went narrowly past.

Craigroyston scored a third when Dunn set up Douglas who held off a defender to shoot via the post and the visitors’ misery was added to in the final minute when Aitchison was shown a straight red card.
