Ross McCormack to miss Scotland matches

Ross McCormack has been ruled out of Scotland’s World Cup double header against Wales and Belgium.

The Leeds striker suffered an ankle injury during Saturday’s defeat by Cardiff. Elland Road manager Neil Warnock, who revealed he faced six to eight weeks out, said: “It might be that he needs an operation because he chipped a bone alongside the ligaments. It’s as bad as you can get from a twisted ankle without breaking it.”

McCormack scored in the 3-1 victory over Australia last month but was an unused substitute for the draws against Serbia and Macedonia.
