Police pitch up
A PORTABLE street football pitch has been launched by Hibs and Hearts players and police officers in Leith.
Jambos midfielder Michael Stewart joined Hibees stars Lewis Stevenson and Andy McNeil at the port's Newkirkgate Shopping Centre last night.
The 'Street Football' event was organised by the Neighbourhood Action Unit at Leith Police Station and funded by a grant from the Leith Regeneration Outcome Agreement. PC Andy Johnson, of the Neighbourhood Action Unit, said: "We plan to use the pitch in areas where we have specific problems with regards to anti-social behaviour and young people. The pitch packs into a trailer and can be quickly assembled on any spare patch of ground."
