Martin demands better from struggling Rovers

Albion Rovers manager Paul Martin is demanding a huge improvement from his players against Stenhousemuir tonight following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat from Stirling Albion that sent them to the foot of the table at the weekend.

Martin said: “We let ourselves and our fans down with a display that lacked endeavour and creativity and I am looking for a massive positive reaction from the players.”

He will make changes as goalkeeper Chris Fahey as well as defenders Ciaran Donnelly and Todd Lumsden are out injured and on-loan Motherwell player Jordan Halsman is unlikely to make it as well.

For Stenhousemuir, defender Willie Lyle drops out through suspension and he joins the injured Brown Ferguson and Sean Dickson in missing out, but Michael Devlin returns.

In-form Dumbarton will look to avenge a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Cowdenbeath in September when they host the league leaders. Striker Ally Graham is an injury doubt but Mark Gilhaney could return after missing out on the 2-2 draw at Brechin at the weekend. Cowdenbeath have the chance to open up a four-point lead at the top of the Second Division if they win.

East Fife’s interim manager Gordon Durie will lead his side for the first time at home as the Fifers take on Brechin City with both sides desperate for a win to put pressure on the teams on the play-off zone. And rejuvenated Stirling Albion can climb up another place tonight if they beat visitors Forfar Athletic.
