Linlithgow Rose 6 Deveronside 0
LINLITHGOW eventually broke down a stubborn Deveronside defence in the 43rd minute when Mark Whyte converted a penalty after Colin Allison had been brought down in the box. Rose doubled their lead in the 64th minute when Marc Anthony rolled the ball into the empty net. Anthony scored again when he finished off a one-two with Graeme Landels. In the 76th minute great work by Ian McLaughlin found Chris Wood at the back post to head in number four. With ten minutes to go Kenny McLellan made it five when a mix-up between Rod McKinnon and Gary Higgins left McLellan to curl the ball into the empty net. Gary Higgins finished the rout in 85 minutes when he headed home a Kenny McLellan cross.

PUMPHERSTON were awarded a penalty in the 20th minute when Dean Fleming was brought down in the box. Alan Dickov stepped up to put the spot kick past the keeper to put Pumpherston in front. They almost doubled their lead when Ainslie Armit found room in the box but his shot went wide. In 25 minutes Fraserburgh’s Gordon Allan was fouled in the penalty box and the referee pointed to the spot. Gordon Allan stepped up to send Jason Brown the wrong way for the equaliser. Pumpherston regained the lead in 40 minutes when a great run and finish from Armit put the home side in front. Fraserburgh equalised two minutes into the second half when Allan headed home his second goal of the game. Pumpherston regained the lead in 65 minutes when Stuart McDonald slotted the ball home from eight yards through a crowded goalmouth. Pumpherston killed the game off in 86 minutes when a great run down the wing by Armit whose shot again was parried by the visiting keeper and the rebound fell to Dickov to slot the ball home and kill off the visitors.

SAUCHIE took the lead through a William Irvine strike after just four minutes. The visitors doubled their lead on 19 minutes when Paul McGuigan headed home from an Irvine corner. Val Chisholm put the home side back in contention on 35 minutes, after being released by Danny Kelly’s right-wing cross and firing past Derek Jackson. In the second half, Gary Muir scored Sauchie’s third after Alan Ward’s shot had come back off the post. Nicolas Brookfield replied for Edinburgh four minutes later when he shot past Jackson following an Andrew Porteous corner. Alan Ward secured the points for Sauchie on 67 minutes when he drilled his shot beyond Michael Burgess from inside the area.

WHITBURN got off to a great start in 26 minutes when Colin Campbell scored. Kenny Hannah doubled their lead two minutes before half-time. After the break Elmwood had their best spell as Whitburn relaxed. They were awarded a penalty in 80 minutes which Kevin Scott converted but Steve Rixon restored Whitburn’s two goal cushion with five minutes to go to give Whitburn a comfortable win. Elmwood’s troubles were not helped by having two players sent off.

Lochee Harp 2 West Calder 5
WEST CALDER had perhaps the best result of the day when they beat Lochee Harp 5-2 at Dundee. Harp had scored 28 goals in their last five games and possibly expected to run riot against their visitors. West Calder took the game to them and opened the scoring with a Barry Craig effort only for Harp to level through Stuart Reid. West Calder took the lead again with Scott Mitchell being the marksman. Harp again levelled things through Graham Allan. After the break West Calder scored their third with a Pody Leach effort and increased their lead through Lee McAuley. Mark Wardlaw settled things with only five minutes remaining when he grabbed their fifth.

THE visitors went ahead in the 14th minute when an overhead kick from McGlynn was headed past Greenan by Robin Hay as the home defence looked on. Musselburgh went further ahead when Ryrie raced up the wing and cut the ball back into the path of Michael Sutherland who drove the ball past Greenan from ten yards. Paul Forrester got a third four minutes into the second half when he scooped the ball over Greenan from 15 yards. Paul Forrester got his second when he headed home unchallenged from a Parkin free kick. The scoring was completed when Michael Sutherland beat two men before driving the ball low into the net in the 82nd minute.

HONOURS were even in this dour scrappy hard fought match that produced plenty of effort and endeavour but no goals. Both teams created chances but it was notable that Jamie Campbell was the busier goalkeeper making some significant saves. However, in the final 15 minutes Bo’ness pushed hard to get the winning goal and Ross Harrower in Hill O’Beath goal produced a great save from a Martin Mooney shot to earn his side a point.

CLYDEBANK took the lead with a disputed penalty after 25 minutes. Brian Harkins converted the spot kick. Blackburn came fighting back and with only a couple of minutes to go in the first half, Brian Smillie headed them level. After the break it was Blackburn who held the upper hand but could not get the decisive goal and so the two teams will have to fight it out next week in the replay.

Camelon 5 Newtongrange Star 0
CAMELON went nap to go seven points clear at the top of the Lothian League Division One where they remain unbeaten after nine games. But for the first half hour it was Newtongrange who looked the more likely side.
Camelon made the breakthrough in the 35th minute when Chris McFadden came roaring in to fire a Thomson cross into the net from six yards. Following this opening goal Newtongrange quickly ran out of steam and by half time were two goals behind when Derek Sinclair fired home from ten yards. Sinclair was on target again just a minute into the second half that was to be completely dominated by Camelon. They went further ahead on the hour mark through a Barry Thomson penalty and a minute later Mark Sinclair completed the scoring when he fired home from the rebound after keeper Oliver had blocked an effort from McFadden.

Haddington 3 Fauldhouse 2
HADDINGTON upset the form book courtesy of three terrific goals. Alex Finlayson put them ahead on 25 minutes with a great turn and finish under pressure in the box and John Martin extended their lead with a superb chip from 20 yards out just before the break. Barry Stuart pulled a goal back for Fauldhouse straight from kick off in the second half but a Finlayson free kick on 68 minutes restored the home side’s two goal lead. Graeme Crawford headed in United’s second with seven minutes left but Haddington held on.

BONNYRIGG’S second half display proved the difference against Bathgate. The home side went ahead through an Andy Roberts header after a great run and cross by Andy Hayton from the right on 20 minutes. Lee Baillie equalised two minutes into the second half, side-footing home at the back post from a sliced shot. Bonnyrigg took the lead from the spot after Graeme Love fouled Robert Williamson. Steven Laidlaw buried the penalty for the first of his double. Laidlaw wrapped up the points with an easy tap-in after good work on the right by Sean Grady.

CRAIG HARVEY moved down field and opened the scoring for Tranent when he swept the ball into the net just before half time. Despite more attempts to equalise the visitors held on to their lead to move into the next round.

Penicuik 3 Stoneyburn 2
BRIAN HANCOCK opened the scoring for Penicuik in 36 minutes but Stoneyburn equalised through Davie Reid ten minutes later. After the break Penicuik moved in front again with a Scott Montgomery effort on the hour mark. But again Stoneyburn equalised. Del Campbell this time in 83 minutes. Into extra time and Penicuik’s Jason Young scored the winner in the first half to put them into the hat for the next round.
