Inverness no pushovers, warns Locke
Gary Locke
HEARTS’ first-team coach Gary Locke has warned against complacency this weekend when Inverness visit Tynecastle, insisting the Highland club are in a false position at the bottom of the SPL.
Manager Terry Butcher brings his side to Edinburgh with only one away win to their credit this season – the 6-3 destruction of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park three weeks ago. Last weekend’s home defeat by Celtic set Inverness back but Locke predicted a stern test for Hearts tomorrow.
“I think Inverness are in a false position. They’re a very good side,” he told Hearts TV. “Terry and Mo (Malpas) have got them organised. They’re always very workmanlike and they’ve got one or two players who can cause you problems. We know how difficult it’s going to be on Saturday, and we’ll make sure our players are on their toes.”
The teams drew 1-1 at the Caledonian Stadium in September, when Stephen Elliott scored a late equaliser for Hearts. Since then, goals have been notoriously difficult to come by but Locke emphasised the positives by praising the players for having the second best defensive record in the SPL.
“We’ve been pleased with the defensive side of things, as we have been with the way we’ve played for most of the season. We’d like to create a few more chances of obviously putting them away.”
Inverness will have Greg Tansey available after the midfielder’s red card against Celtic last Saturday was rescinded on appeal by the SFA yesterday.
Referee Stevie O’Reilly issued Tansey a straight red card for violent conduct following his collision with Georgios Samaras but, following a personal appeal by Butcher, the offence has been downgraded to a “careless foul” and no action taken.

Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 06:09 PMNo Harry TOTT called VR how it is for years & not how the press & tormented Hibs fans would like me to call him. I critisised him for GB dismissal. I critisised him for his handling of the CT affair. I critisised him for the timing of JJ's dismisal. i critisised him for his stupid statements.I am currently critising him for approving a budget then renaging on funding it..........along with pointing out his positive contributions. Now as he has stated he has no interest in Hearts i have said the quicker he goes the better. But u feel free to misrepresent me for what ever reason.

Friday, November 25, 2011 at 05:20 PMWe must not score 0 again. I would honestly prefer we lost 7-4. A HeartsSt J double looks on the cards. I wonder what diection Tommy will think Hibs are heading in if St J put another 5 past them.

Friday, November 25, 2011 at 05:16 PMHow can we be complacent when we haven't scored a goal for four games. Tough match in prospect they are well organised and a threat up front but i think a narrow win for the Hearts is in prospect

Friday, November 25, 2011 at 05:13 PM#20 Kop........did nobody tell you SANTAS a JAMBO.However if he wants to get the Hibs fans heads back up that'll be the one to win . Although over the last 30 years HEARTS fans have started to take not getting beat by Hibs a bit for granted I have to admit that never in the last 30 years have we won the Derbies easier than under Yogi(much to my suprise) & CC( no suprise to anyone). I like the sound of your new man & although he will need time I am pretty sure we will have to work a lot harder come the 2nd to keep our run going.
