Iceland ideal warm-up for Euro qualifiers

Scotland Women defender Frankie Brown believes tomorrow’s friendly encounter with Iceland at Cappielow is the ideal preparation for her team ahead of next month’s crucial UEFA Euro qualifying double header.

Anna Signuel’s side only need one point from their final two qualifying matches, against Wales and France, to guarantee a place in the play-offs.

Brown said: “Iceland are top of their group at the moment and will provide us with a good challenge ahead of our games against Wales and France.

“The fact that this is a friendly won’t make a difference. Every international match, competitive or friendly, is important.”
