Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo open to talks about Scotland job
HEARTS manager Csaba Laszlo today revealed he would be prepared to talk to the Scottish Football Association about taking the Scotland job.
• Csaba Laszlo
Laszlo is one of a host managers who have been linked with the vacancy following George Burley's sacking on Monday.
Laszlo insisted he was fully committed to the Jambos and would only speak to the SFA with the permission of the club.
He said: "If there's the possibility to be the manager of a country – it's indifferent which country – it must be a big honour for every coach and for every manager.
"If somebody comes to the club and asks for permission to discuss with me, okay we can discuss, definitely.
"To be the manager of a country, this is always the highest you can reach.
"I had the honour to train Hungary and even Uganda and, definitely, I had the feeling of what it took to train a country."
Laszlo maintained that to be linked with the job was an honour.
"I was in Budapest this week when I got a call to tell me I had been linked to the job of Scotland manager."
"This is a huge honour for me and to get such a position would be wonderful. Just because it is the same country as Hearts, I do not think it would be a problem.
"The owner of my club sold eleven players in the summer. It's been tough, but I do not think he would create difficulties if this happened. Even though I have a year and a half of my contract to go, fortunately, I have a buy-out clause. So, if anyone seriously wanted me, I would be free to go."
