Hamish is top dog in brotherly battle

HIGHLAND: It was a case of brothers-in-arms as Formartine United took another confident stride in the Highland League title race.

Hamish and Donnie Munro battled for midfield supremacy – with the former triumphant against the club he parted with in the summer.

The family affair added spice to an otherwise one-sided confrontation as Buckie were blown away 4-1, the victory for Steve Paterson’s side keeping leaders Wick Academy firmly in their sights.

However, Wick still set the pace following their 1-0 victory over Inverurie while second top Cove thrashed Strathspey Thistle 9-0.

A Sean Ellis winner for Clach sank Lossiemouth, Brora Rangers thrashed Keith 4-1 and Nairn won 4-2 at Fraserburgh.

Turriff United edged out hosts Fort William 2-0 and Huntly routed Rothes 7-0 while Forres against Deveronvale was rained off.
