Hamilton 1-1 Morton: Crawford’s late goal salvages point for Ton
TEN-man Hamilton came from behind to claim a point in a dramatic clash which also saw the visitors finish with just ten men.
Accies threatened early as Ali Graham’s corner was met by Jon McShane’s glancing header which grazed the bar.
However, the visitors came alive when Willie Dyer’s cross was flicked on by Peter Weatherson and David Graham’s snapshot was blocked by Kevin Cuthbert.
It was the precursor to a well-worked opener, Graham receiving Michael Tidser’s cross-field pass before firing a cross to the back post where David O’Brien’s diving header provided the finish.
Accies suffered a setback when Martin Canning limped off and his replacement Ziggy Gordon was alert to deal with the danger presented by O’Brien’s surge into the box.
Hamilton had a huge let-off when Weatherson seized on Michael Devlin’s short pass-back before skipping past Cuthbert but Accies defender Devlin atoned by darting back to clear off the line.
The equaliser came nine minutes from time when Morton failed to deal with a cross and Ali Crawford drilled the ball low into the net.
And Morton’s misery was compounded when Tidser was shown a straight red for dissent.
