Future bright as Giuliano’s beat Dundee

SCOTLAND star Michelle Kerr grabbed a double as Giuliano’s women’s football team beat bogey side Dundee 6-2, writes LYNSEY THOMSON.

The Capital side, who had not beaten their Tayside opponents for two years, looked to be in trouble when they trailed 2-0 after 25 minutes.

But Giuliano’s were the better side throughout and deserved their comfortable win.

Kerr pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, opening the flood-gates for the second half.

Coach Maggie Wilson was forced to make changes for her side’s penultimate game of the season and will be satisfied that the future looks bright, with trialists Siobhan Rooney (2) and Gillian Kerr both finding the net. Nicky Grant was the other scorer for Giuliano’s.

"They were never in it in the second half and it was a case of shooting in," said Wilson.

Giuliano’s bring down the curtain on the season tomorrow when they face Ayr United. Hibs also end their campaign tomorrow when Dundee return to the Capital.
