FRASER Forster has given Celtic a lift ahead of their much-anticipated Champions League showdown with Juventus by making a return to full training today.

The Parkhead side face the Italian giants a week tomorrow, and the news that Forster, who performed heroics during the Champions League group stage, will serve as a timely boost for Celtic.

Lukasz Zaluska stood in for the former Newcastle goalkeeper during yesterday’s 3-0 win over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup, leading to fears that Forster’s injury was worse than initially thought.

Manager Neil Lennon allayed those fears after goals from Kris Commons, Charlie Mulgrew and James Forrest had given Celtic a 3-0 win, revealing that the ‘keeper could be ready to face Inverness this weekend.

“Fraser should be OK for next weekend. The plan is to get him a game before Juventus.

“He’s itching to play and could have gone away with England, but we felt it would be better to get a good week of work before the Champions League.”

Lennon is also due to assess the fitness of Emilio Izaguirre and Georgios Samaras.
