Fowler vows to break Leeds scoring duck
ROBBIE Fowler loves life at Leeds United and has promised Elland Road fans the goals will soon flow from his boots.
Fowler could not have been happier since his 11million move from Liverpool, but after two matches he is still waiting to break his duck for David O’Leary’s side. With three home games looming in the space of seven days, Fowler will be hoping to get off the mark - starting against Leicester on Sunday.
Ironically, Fowler’s only league goals this season came against Leicester. The 27-year-old grabbed a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory for Liverpool at Filbert Street in October. He scored 171 goals during his 330 appearances for Liverpool and remains unconcerned that he has yet to find the net for his new club.
"I’ve been working hard at my game and for the team, which must be paying dividends because we’re unbeaten in two games since I arrived," he said. "I feel good. I had a few half-chances against Blackburn which, on another day, I might have stuck away. That day will come as long as I am getting the chances.
"But to be honest things are going great for me. I’m loving it at the minute. I could have sat on the bench and picked up medals at Liverpool, but I wanted to come to a place to play my part in winning something."
