Scotland B test

SCOTLAND have arranged a B international against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin in November. The game will take place on Tuesday, 14 November at Dalymount Park.

Rebrov out

UKRAINE striker Sergei Rebrov will miss the Euro 2008 qualifier against Scotland in Kiev through injury. The Dynamo Kiev frontman has a damaged hamstring. Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin has named Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko in the squad for the Group B match on 11 October.

Forfar must play

THE Scottish League has turned down a request by Forfar Athletic to postpone their Second Division match tomorrow with Peterhead. Forfar, who have nine players out and two others doubtful, said that they had only eight fit players, including two goalkeepers.

ST JOHNSTONE'S McDiarmid Park will host the Challenge Cup final between Ross County and Clyde on Sunday, 12 November (3pm).

AIRDRIE have signed French midfielder Xavier Barrau.

FORMER East Fife chairman Derrick Brown has been ordered to resign as a director of the Third Division club. A statement issued by chairman Willie Gray and vice-chairman Sid Collumbine said: "Derrick Brown has now been relieved of all his operational duties and responsibilities at the club. He has also been requested to resign as a director."

Makelele called up to face Scots

FRANCE coach Raymond Domenech has included Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele in his squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Scotland and the Faroe Islands next month.

Makelele announced his international retirement following the World Cup final defeat to Italy but Domenech named him in the party for the recent matches against the Azzurri and Georgia and threatened to invoke a FIFA rule which means a domestic ban if the player refused to play.

Challenge Cup final for Perth

THE Scottish League has chosen St Johnstone's McDiarmid Park as the venue for the Challenge Cup final between Ross County and Clyde. The game will be played on Sunday, 12 November with a 3pm kick-off.

AIRDRIE United have completed the signing of French midfielder Xavier Barrau. The 23-year-old played as a trialist in their last two games.
