Dumbarton 3 - 3 Hamilton: Late goals scupper Sons hopes of first win

A GOAL minutes into injury time denied Dumbarton their first win off the season as Hamilton came back from two goals down.

Ali Crawford’s low shot from 25 yards sneaked past Stephen Grindlay to give Accies the lead on 21 minutes, with the scores tied 12 minutes later when Lee Kilday headed a Bryan Prunty flick into his own goal from eight yards out.

Jim Lister nodded against a post with an hour gone before having much better fortune when he converted a Mark Lamont cross with a far post header on 73 minutes.

It was 3-1 to the Sons four minutes later when Kevin Cuthbert saved a Lamont effort and Prunty slammed home the rebound.

Hamilton looked down and out, but Steven May got to the bye-line and cut the ball back for James Keatings to slide in and net with two minutes left.

Referee John McKendrick found five minutes to add on and in the last seconds Cuthbert launched a free kick high into the air from the half-way line and when Grindlay spilled it, on-loan Celtic youngster Keatings slammed home to grab what had looked an unlikely point.
