Ayr snatched the lead after 16 minutes when Darian Mackinnon netted from Kyle McAusland’s cross.

Ayr United 2, Arbroath 0

Michael Moffat should have added the second with a 74th-minute penalty, but saw his effort saved. He made amends with Ayr’s second goal in injury-time.

Brechin City 7, Stenhousemuir 2

Kurtis Byrne gave Brechin an early lead before John Gemmell equalised.

Alan Trouten struck twice from close-range before half-time and Sean Dickson pulled a goal back before Trouten completed his hat-trick. David McKenna and Derek Carcary (2) completed the scoring.

Stranraer 4, Forfar Athletic 1

Craig Malcolm gave Stranraer an early lead but Forfar hit back. Danny Denholm equalised with a header.

Chris Aitken put Stranraer back in front five minutes from the break and Malcolm added a third after 73 minutes. Frank McKeown scored late to make it four.

Alloa Athletic 5, Albion Rovers 1

Martin Grehan hit a hat-trick to kill off Rovers. He put the home side ahead after 20 minutes, Simon

Marriott then scoring an own goal.

David Crawford pulled a goal back, but Grehan’s second and third were followed by a goal from on-loan Mitch Megginson.
