DAVID WEIR is set to hold talks with Falkirk over their vacant manager’s job.
The Evening News has learned that Weir is interested in speaking to his former club and discussions are expected to take place between both parties over the next 24 hours.
Alex Smith is in temporary charge at Falkirk alongside coach Stevie Crawford, however chairman Martin Ritchie wants to appoint a new manager before next month’s Scottish Cup semi-final with Hibs having lost Steven Pressley to Coventry City last week.
Weir is currently coaching Everton’s under-21 side, but is keen to forge a career in management. He started his professional career with Falkirk in 1992 before moving on to Hearts, Everton and Rangers. He also won 69 Scotland caps.
