Fletcher has been drafted in to the Manchester United squad to face Wigan on Saturday.

“Darren Fletcher is in the squad,” said manager Sir Alex Ferguson. “At this moment in time everything looks fine.”

The 28-year-old had been laid low since November with ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel condition.

Fletcher took medical advice and took an extended break from football in order to recover fully from the disorder.

Fletcher agreed a new deal with United in March that will tie him to Old Trafford until 2015.
