Craigroyston look to atone for slip-up

Craigroyston and Leith Athletic, both undefeated in the Central Taxis First Division this season, clash in what is very much a derby at St Mark’s Park, kick-off 2.30pm.

Craigroyston passed up on an opportunity to maintain their 100 per cent league record when they were held to a 1-1 draw by leaders Coldstream last weekend. “Coldstream had a player sent off early on but then they took the lead with a penalty,” lamented the Craigroyston manager, Ross McNeil. “We missed a lot of chances before we eventually equalised late on but it was definitely two points dropped.“Tomorrow we face Leith Atheltic who I watched a couple of times last season and they have brought in some new players since then, including Kyle Boggie, while still
remaining a young side. They like to play football as do we so it promises to be an entertaining game on the big flat surface at St Mark’s.”

One of McNeil’s recent signings from amateur football, Steven Moncur, has adapted exceptionally well to the East Seniors grade and the forward scored with a 30-yard shot against Tynecastle and netted with a header against Coldstream. “Stevie has done well since he joined us and, like our other players, he is looking forward to playing against Leith. We want to gain promotion this season and hopefully we can pick up all three points tomorrow.”

Craigroyston are without the injured David McNeil while Leith Athletic manager Derek Riddel has a full squad to choose from with the exception of Craig Thomson who is on holiday.
