Craig aims to be Bo’ness’ sugar daddy

CRAIG DONALDSON is
hoping for a sweet end to his
injury hell – thanks to some sugar injections.

The former Inverness and East Stirling midfielder joined Bo’ness in February hoping to put a near two-year injury nightmare behind him.

He was forced to have a year out of the game following surgery on his ankle and the problem is still persisting.

“Craig has spent a lot of money trying to get his ankle sorted and now he’s hoping sugar
injections could cure him,” said Bo’ness boss Allan McGonigal.

“His uncle is Tommy McMillan and I think he’s bankrolling Craig’s bid to try and get back to full fitness. I hope he does.”

Contrary to popular belief, McGonigal was disappointed to see last week’s Emirates Scottish Junior Cup clash at Linlithgow washed out.

“If it goes ahead on Saturday, then we’re probably going to be weaker than we would have been last weekend,” he insisted.

“Scott Gibb was available, having changed a shift at the cost of a few to quid to him, and he’s unlikely to be available this weekend.

“It’s also too early for Jamie Hay, who has only just had the stookie taken off his leg this week, while it now looks as though Stuart Hunter is
going to be out for the rest of the season.

“That’s really bad news for us while it remains to be seen if we can secure the services of David White from East Fife.

“They are in the same predicament as us at the moment in terms of injury and Billy Brown, in fairness, is fighting to keep them in the Second Division.

“The only good thing about the game being off for us last weekend is that it has given us another week to get Alex
Lurinsky closer to full fitness.”

The former Bathgate flying machine was signed from East Stirling recently and, according to his manager, is a potential match-winner against Lithgae.

“We paid a pittance to get Alex and one of the great things about him is that he can score goals, as he showed against Broxburn a fortnight ago. He’s got vast experience playing in the Juniors and also has some Senior experience under his belt as well now.”
