Changing room chat: Woods succumbs to TV 'Temptations'
TIGER Woods may be about to make his first return to the golf course after the trauma around his private life, but fans of the US cartoon comedy show South Park are due for an even earlier showing from the world No1.
The programme, famous for lampooning celebrities from all walks of life, is back for a new series in America this week and Woods' "solemn" first public address of last month will feature in tomorrow's episode, entitled All The Temptations.
"It's such an important issue in America right now – the sex addiction outbreak," said South Park co-creator Matt Stone, who makes the series with partner Trey Parker, although he did – we suspect with a tongue planted firmly in cheek – add: "We're all really concerned about him and hope he gets better."
We are sure this week's episode will assist him with that...
Rugby wannabes play it for kicks
THE Japanese women's rugby team for the 2016 Rio Olympics could be made up of a fearsome mixture of rough-and-tumble martial arts experts.
The karate-kicking hopefuls were joined by judo wrestlers among a total of 88 women who took part in a tryout for the Japan Women's Rugby Football Federation at the weekend.
"I thought the scrum and tackling looked so cool," former world junior karate champion Aya Waterhouse told daily newspaper Nikkan Sports.
"The way the players go at each other is great. It's a new challenge."
Yogi's wag really catches the eye
YOGI has got his paws on the big trophy of the season, the one they hand out to top dogs, the one that leaves rivals barking with envy. Yes, we're talking Crufts.
While John 'Yogi' Hughes was chewing off his fingernails watching Hibs hang grimly on to their dream of winning a first Scottish Cup since 1902, his canine namesake – a Hungarian Vizsla, was trotting off with top prize at Britain's premier dog show. Striker Derek Riordan's involvement in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Ross County meant he was sadly unable to enter his beloved bulldog "Wee Fat Bruce".
As one Hibbie on hibs.net asked: "What's 108 in dog years?"
