Changing room chat: Phone directory gets wires crossed
THIRD Division Queen’s Park’s office staff have been getting run of their feet since the turn of the year dealing with requests for match tickets for English Premier side Queens Park Rangers.
A Directory Enquiries company had got their records mixed up and instead of getting the phone number for the Loftus Road Ticket Office that handles requests for games against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea fans were given Queen’s Park number.
The Glasgow Queen’s play their home games at Scotland’s national stadium Hampden Park and a spokesperson said: “This problem first surfaced about a year ago but then it was fixed, however we are not getting a lot of calls for games against teams Queen’s Park do not usually play against.”
“We have put the offending company right and hopefully we will no longer be getting asked how many we can squeeze into the ground for such and such a game.”
