KRIS Boyd is set for a reunion with Alex McLeish after Portland Timbers lined up a summer friendly against the former Rangers manager’s Aston Villa side.

McLeish brought the striker to Ibrox from Kilmarnock in 2006 and Boyd helped lift six domestic trophies before leaving for Middlesbrough in 2010. Boyd is also likely to go head-to-head with former Rangers team-mates Alan Hutton and Carlos Cuellar.

Villa are heading to the US for pre-season and will take on John Spencer’s team on 24 July.
