Changing Room Chat: Italians up to monk-y business
ITALY coach Cesare Prandelli and his backroom staff kept a promise by embarking on a 13-mile trek at 3am on Tuesday from the team hotel to a Camaldolese monastery.
Upon arriving in Poland, Prandelli and Italian delegation chief Demetrio Albertini – whose brother is a priest – had promised the monks they would visit them by foot if Italy advanced from the group stage. After they beat Ireland to secure a quarter-final against England, the 14-strong delegation made the trip to the 400-year-old monastery near Krakow.
